Schedule an Appointment

How do I schedule an appointment at Student Health Services?

Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (fall, winter, and spring quarters) or 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (summer quarter).

You have 3 scheduling options:

  • Call our front desk at (408) 554-4501, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Our front desk staff can help you make any type of appointment.
  • Log into your Cowell Health Portal to schedule an appointment yourself.
  • Stop by the Cowell Center during business hours to make an appointment in person. We are located next to the tennis courts in Building 701. Find us on a campus map here

What if I need an appointment immediately?

  • For urgent but NOT life-threatening medical concerns, you are welcome to walk-in to the Cowell Center during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). You will be triaged based on medical condition, urgency, and appointment availability. Depending on patient volume, wait time can vary. Your cooperation and patience is appreciated.
  • If you are having a medical emergency, please call 911. Student Health Services does not have an emergency room, so call for an ambulance or paramedic assistance right away. Be prepared to identify your location and situation.

Please note:

The Cowell Center does not bill insurance companies directly. Students can request itemized receipts that they may submit for potential reimbursement to their insurance companies as out of pocket claims. They can request these via phone or email. Cowell Center fees will appear in the Finances section of Workday. Fees cannot be paid with HSA/FSA accounts as Santa Clara University does not accept debit or credit cards for payment on student account charges.

No-shows will result in a fee of $30 for SHS and CAPS appointments.
