Trust Project Wins Conference Board Award

Recognition for exemplary effort to address fake news

The Trust Project, a consortium of media organizations hosted by the Ethics Center, received the Fellows Award from the Conference Board, an organization of business leaders that helps leaders navigate the biggest issues impacting business.  The project, which has developed a set of Transparency Standards for news organizations, was honored by the Board's Society for New Communications Research.

“The scourge of fake news and disinformation has revealed itself to be a unique modern challenge that’s affecting organizations and individuals in a variety of different ways,” said Jen McClure, SNCR founder and advisory board chair. “As our Fellows continue to investigate the ramifications of fake news and best practices for addressing the problem, we’re delighted to honor those who are leading the way to identify innovative solutions.”

Trust Project Director and Senior Director of Journalism Ethics Sally Lehrman has been invited to participate in a panel at the awards event June 26.
