Electrochemistry resides at the intersection of chemical and electrical phenomena. In the Electrochemical Device Laboratory (ECDL), we develop devices which leverage electrochemistry for applications including energy conversion (fuel cells) and micropumping. In this effort, we are developing novel fabrication techniques using porous polymers and exploring their integration in simplified architectures for optimized system performance. In addition, our research focuses on fundamental understanding of microscale mass and capillary transport, and its impact on electrochemical system performance.
