Mission Church

Santa Clara Mission, founded in 1777, is the first mission named for a woman, St. Clare of Assisi. Because of floods, fires, and earthquakes, the Church was built and rebuilt. This is the sixth church on the fifth site. The flavor of the original adobe building has been restored using modern materials. Interior decorations now seen are the wonderfully combined Indian, Spanish, Italian, and Victorian embellishments added through time.

The Mission Church is available for weddings and memorials for SCU students, faculty, staff and alumni. For more information about Church availability, call 408-554-4023.

Adobe Lodge

The Adobe Lodge is the oldest building on the Santa Clara University campus and the only structural remnant of the original 1822 Mission Santa Clara. Located just steps away from the Mission in the beautiful Mission Gardens, a stroll
to the historic Adobe Lodge is a step back into history. Meticulously remodeled to retain its Mission-era flavor, the Adobe Lodge is perfect for private parties, business and association meetings for groups up to 600 served, 1,500
for receptions.

For catering information, please call 408-554-4059, or better yet, let them know when you can come in for lunch or a cup of coffee. They would enjoy talking with you about their services and will gladly provide a tour of their beautiful and historic facility.

de Saisset Museum

The de Saisset Museum was built in 1955 through a generous bequest from Isabel de Saisset in memory of her brother Ernest. Since its inception, the museum has amassed an art collection that is well-respected by artists and collectors.

The de Saisset is a repository of an extensive California history collection. Each year, thousands of visitors view the permanent collection with the Santa Clara Mission, the exquisite and expansive gardens, the Adobe Lodge and
Adobe Wall, and other historical sites in a walking tour of the Santa Clara University campus.

The de Saisset enjoys the highest honor of full accreditation by the American Association of Museums. The permanent collection features masterprints, sculpture, contemporary art, and much more. Temporary exhibits of culturally relevant and traditional art are featured in addition to a variety of films, lectures, concerts, and other special events.
